CRYSTAL AND ISABEL This is a weblog for Crystal Sun Zhao and Isabel Sun Zhao. As parents, we'd like to keep the records for them as much as we can.

Isabel has really big cheek. Usually, I don’t see any other baby has that big cheek, except Crystal. I bet this is the heritage coming from their mom. It makes her look really big. But, Isabel is not over-weighted.

Crystal treats her younger sister much better now. She really likes to give Isabel some big kisses on the cheek.

About Crystal, she usually asks me a lot of questions. She likes to ask me why. For now, it’s not too bad for me. Whatever answers I give her, she will just take it for granted. 🙂

At the same time, I can feel Crystal is growing up fast. One night, when I was on the way out, she even told me to wear the jacket because it was cold outside. That touches me a little bit.

Not very surprising to me, Isabel’s number is very much like what Crystal had when she was four months old.

Crystal went to 长春 to visits Grandparents from Jan. 2nd to Jan. 23 with dad. While Crystal misses grandpa very much, grandpa misses Crystal very, very much as well. So, dad decided to take Crystal to Grandpa’s place. We stayed in 长春 for more than 20 days. Crystal got a chance to meet many mom’s relatives again or the first time. Dad also got a chance to take many short tours to visit some nice beautiful places.

For Isabel, she is growing up happily. She likes to smile very much. Almost to every one, she will give you a big smile. Her cheek is growing bigger and bigger. My guess is that hers is even bigger than Crystal’s while Crystal was young.

Isabel grows bigger every day. She is very healthy. She seems quieter than her elder sister. On Dec. 2nd, 2005, we have a one month old celebration party for Isabel with some of Wendy’s colleagues.

Just a couple of days later, we take Crystal and Isabel to a trip to 浙江西山岛 and 东山岛. Both islands are small ones besides 太湖. We stay there for two days and have a very good time. On the afternoon way back to Shanghai, both girls fall into sleep in the car. You can see how cute they are. 🙂

Believe it or not, Crystal is 3 years old now. In some ways, she is kind of a big girl now. She knows how to get what she wants; she kind of knows how to make a tradeoff; she loves drawing; she feels shy sometimes because she knows she doesn’t sing too well; she has her own mind to pick up some stuff for herself… In other words, she is big enough that I have to think a little bit when dealing with her.

We have another big girl, Isabel, born on Nov. 2nd 8:16am. Wendy is doing pretty good. After staying in hospital for 3 days, we all arrived home smoothly today morning.

Isabel looks alike Crystal, with big cheeks. Her weight is 3.63kg, height 50cm, head centimeter is 36cm.

Considering mom is 8 month pregnant now, this month is a little bit too busy for us. But, on the other side, the summer is almost over and the second baby is coming. This may be the last chance to have fun for only three of us.

The first place we go is 佘山, which is a small mountain (only 99m high) very close the city. This image shows that Crystal is on the life to the top.

The second place is Hangzhou. Crystal actually has been to Hangzhou a couple of times. But this time, Crystal goes there with only dad. Both of us really enjoy the two days’ trip. Crystal also meets uncle David’s twin brothers.

The thrid event is to watch F1 Shanghai 2005. The sound of F1 racing cars is too strong for Crystal even with earplug in. Crystal starts crying right after the first car passes by while dad is ready for enjoying to watch the match. So, we have to move further away, from seats to grass. The sound is also too much for pregnant mom. In the following image, Crystal is at the background with uncle Yang.

The last event is Terry Fox run. Crystal takes 3.5km walking (or holding), while dad takes 8.8km jogging. After finishing one hour event, we also go to 南汇 for a short trip.

The first trip we go together is to 锭山湖 and 同里. Mom is 7 month pregnant now. We have a very good time, also with uncle Yang.

The second trip is to 海宁. Crystal and dad go together with mom’s colleagues. We go there to see tide. The tide is not as big as we expect. The tide comes around 1pm, and it is a very hot day. Dad has to buy as much cold drinks to cool Crystal down a little bit. Crystal is so brave that she stays with dad together a couple of hours to wait until the tide comes.
